Today’s Power Thought: Practice Love and Good Will
Practice Love and Good Will
It is amazing what happiness a sincere expression of compassion and tenderness will induce. Dr. Samuel Shoemaker once told of a baggage handler in Grand Central Station, named Ralston Young. He carried bags for a living, but his real job was to share a little Christian fellowship with those he met. He carefully watched customers to see if there was a way he could give them more courage and hope. He shared a little love with everyone he met. In the words of Tolstoy, “Where love is, God is.” So, practice sharing happiness with others and you will find it for yourself.
Happy Tuesday!
Monday: Pictures Pages
Spent the weekend relaxing at home. Made a crockpot of spaghetti sauce to put over pasta, took a few naps, watched a few movies and played around with the camera. In other words, the weekend was very pleasant. Hubby starts back up at the local community college this week so I’ll be forced to entertain myself while he studies the night away. What will I do? What….will I do?
Maybe I’ll go heavy with the black eyeliner and be mysterious!
Maybe I’ll find an alternative use for neck ties and wear one as a belt.
Maybe I’ll read the funnies and drink some coffee.
Maybe my inner pyro will come out to play and I’ll do something like this.
Maybe I’ll watch this video from Youtube and take a trip down memory lane. Remember this?
In any case…I’ll find something to occupy myself with. Keep Florida in your thoughts and prayers because there’s a tropical storm that could turn into a hurricane headed our way. Hope you all had a nice weekend.
Happy Monday!
Today’s Power Thought: Develop the Happiness Habit
Happy Thursday!
I spy…
Half way through the week and so far so good. Although I think I’m ready for some Fall weather which in Florida terms means a temperature of 80 degrees or below. Next time that I move, I plan to be closer to the Mason Dixon line NOT a stone’s throw away from the equator. I’d also like to see rolling hills, curvy roads and tall trees. Ok ok…rant over!
Is this a cute bear or what? I couldn’t resist buying him.
Just about anything that is colorful makes for a nice pic. My dad would be agree as he’s never without a toothpick.
Selective color photos are a fave of mine because they are really attention grabbing.
Picked these up in NC. I think old books (especially classics) are great. I guess I better get started!
Happy Wednesday!
Weather is beautiful… Wish you were here!
Actually…I’m not there anymore. I’m back home from vacation (sigh) and with some great pics as promised so you can at least feel like you were there with me. We had a great ole time in the NC mountains. Hard to come back home but there is nothing like the comfort of being in my own bed and seeing Fatboy.
View from my sister’s cabin where we stayed….
A butterfly that stayed still long enough for me to photograph…
Hiked a mile in the woods to see this (Anna Ruby Falls in Helen GA) and it was worth it.
View from the cabin but with a better view of the sunset this time.
Yes…hearts are everywhere!
Hubby hiking along the Appalachian Trial…
Daisies…the flower of summer!
The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. Go check it out!
More pretty flowers…
Fires Creek, North Carolina – a very cool little area to check out.
Well I’m back physically but mentally still on vacation. It just went by way too fast as usual but enjoyed very much just the same. Time to get to back to reality.
Now how many days are there till Labor day?
=)~
Photo Friday… Unplugged!
Happy Friday!
See you all when I get back from my vacation on the 11th. With lots of good pics!
=)
Three days through my eyes…
On Tuesday…
A storm trooper trying to recuit more help for Darth Vader to conquer the world but they were not interested. I guess ole Darth has sucky benefits plans?
On Wednesday…
I got my lovely kitteh (Fatboy) to pose (for all of 2 secs) and was lucky to get this shot. I’m also glad that he was looking directly into the camera. Maybe the can of tuna that I promised him afterwards helped.
You know that I can’t go through a week without at least 1 heart pic because I… I ummm… I uhhh… because I love love love hearts that’s why! Ssssh! Don’t tell my dad or dermatologist about this pic but I have NO idea where all those freckles came from. I wear sunscreen!!!! Also…doing this tempted me to get a tat. Ssssssh!
Happy Thursday!
=D
Wednesday brought to you by: A1 & J5
When I was kid, my father had an old Wurlitzer Jukebox with a bunch of 45s in it (that’s vinyl records for you young ones out there). I was not tall enough to see the song selection buttons but I knew the song locations within the jukebox in order to play my favorite 2 songs (over and over again).
I would stand on my tippy toes, stretch my short arms and press…
A-1 for this one
and J-5 for this one.
Happy Wednesday!
